PPO plastic (polyphenylene oxide), also known as polyphenylene ether, polyphenylene oxide, or polyphenylene ether (PPE), is one of the world’s five major general-purpose engineering plastics. Its chemical name is poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide), and it is produced by oxidative polycondensation of 2,6-dimethylphenol. In its normal state, it appears as a yellowish‑brown powder or white granules (white powder).
