Laptop Industry

In the laptop industry, modified plastics such as ABS, PC, and PBT are widely used due to their outstanding performance.

ABS: Known for its excellent mechanical properties, processing capabilities, and surface gloss, it’s commonly used in components like laptop casings and keyboard bases. ABS material effectively protects internal electronic components while delivering a comfortable typing experience.
PC: Known for its high strength, excellent light transmission, and impact resistance, it’s commonly used in critical components of laptops, such as display frames and protective shields, ensuring the safety and stability of the screen.
PBT: Offers excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability, making it ideal for connectors and components used in high-temperature or corrosive environments inside laptops.

Home appliance industry

The home appliance industry is one of the key application areas for modified plastics.

ABS: Widely used in appliance housings, control panels, and other components due to its ease of processing and molding, as well as its relatively low cost.
PC: In home appliances such as smart refrigerators and washing machines, PC material is often used for components like door panels and control panels due to its excellent transparency and weather resistance.
PBT: PBT-modified plastics excel in household appliance components that require high-temperature and chemical resistance, such as motor housings and parts surrounding heating elements.

Automotive Parts Industry

In the automotive parts industry, modified plastics are favored for their lightweight properties, corrosion resistance, and ease of processing.

ABS: Commonly used in automotive interior components such as dashboards, door handles, and storage compartments, it’s also employed in certain exterior parts, like bumper covers.
PC: Due to its high strength and impact resistance, PC material is commonly used in automotive lighting system components such as headlights and taillights, as well as in the manufacturing of parts like windshield wipers and car windows.
PBT: In automotive electrical systems, PBT-modified plastics are commonly used in components such as connectors and fuse boxes due to their excellent electrical performance and heat resistance.

Optoelectronics Industry

In the optoelectronics industry, modified plastics are primarily used to manufacture various optical components and housings for optoelectronic devices.

PC: Thanks to its high light transmittance and weather resistance, PC material is widely used in the optoelectronics industry—for applications such as LED lampshades and light-diffusing panels.
ABS/PC alloy: Combines the processability of ABS with the light-transmitting properties of PC, making it commonly used for manufacturing housings of optoelectronic devices that require both transparency and strength.
PBT: Although not as widely used as PC and ABS in the optoelectronics industry, PBT-modified plastics still offer unique application value in certain specialized environments—for example, high-temperature and high-humidity conditions—where they are employed in optoelectronic devices.
